The railway authorities on Sunday extended help to a passenger who sought assistance for his paralysed father via a tweet to the railways ministry.

Pankaj Jain, a businessman based in Bengaluru and hailing from Rajasthan, was travelling with his father Sumermal Jain, 58, on Yesvantpur-Bikaner Express, for treatment of his father’s paralysis.

Along with his family, he was headed to Butati Dham temple, which provides free treatment to paralysed patients.

However,the train stops only for three minutes at Merta Road railway station, which wasnot enough for him to deboard with his father.
